Stagecoach Group is a major bus and rail operator in the UK and North America. In the UK, we have a market share of around 20% of the bus market. We also have an involvement in running around a fifth of the UK passenger rail market.

Public transportation in the United States is provided by around 8,000 organisations, ranging from transit authorities and major bus and coach companies to single-vehicle private providers. There are around 10.4billion public transport journeys a year in the United States, with some 5.4billion journeys by bus. Latest figures show there are around 66,500 buses in the United States. In Canada, there are around 2.7billion passenger journeys by public transport every year, with around 15,000 buses on the road. Stagecoach Group operates commuter/transit services, inter-city services, tour and charter, sightseeing and school bus operations in the United States and Canada, with a market share of around 1%.
