REASONS TO USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT

1: IT COULD HELP SAVE YOU MONEY

Ever thought about how much you really spend on parking, fuel and monthly car costs? Studies show you could save money by switching to public transport, especially if you are a frequent traveller.

2: YOU CAN HELP SAVE THE PLANET

Think of all the journeys you make by car, and the thousands of other people making similar journeys just like you. Now imagine that, instead of all those cars, those journeys were taken by bus, train or tram instead... less traffic, less pollution and a happier environment.

3: IT’S LESS STRESSFUL

Driving can be stressful, between negotiating busy traffic, dealing with other drivers, and finding somewhere to park – taking  public transport can take the stress right out of your journey.

4: FORGET ABOUT PARKING TICKETS

Without a car, there’s no risk of getting a parking ticket or rushing when your meter is about to run out!!

5: YOU’LL HAVE MORE FREE ‘ME’ TIME

By getting things done on public transport, like texting, reading or working, you’ll free up lots of spare time during the rest of the day.

6: YOU CAN RELAX AND DAYDREAM

You don’t have to concentrate on driving so why not just sit back and let your mind wander, or maybe even catch up on some sleep.

7: THERE’S PLENTY OF PEOPLE WATCHING TO ENJOY

It’s everyone’s favourite pastime and taking  public transport lets you sit and observe people around you, both on and off the train or bus.

8: IT COULD BE BETTER FOR YOUR HEALTH

A short walk to the bus or tram stop or to the train station and back every day could do you the world of good, ensuring you have some fresh air and exercise each day, instead of just getting in and out of your car at your front door.

9: YOU MIGHT MEET SOMEONE NICE

While on board you can chat to other passengers, or you may even meet your future partner – you just never know!
