megabus.com, Stagecoach Group’s market-leading budget inter-city coach service, has won a prestigious travel deal award for the second year in a row.
The company’s business in North America has won the Leading Provider of Outstanding Car Rental and Bus Deals category at the 2010 Travelzoo awards.
The awards, run by global internet media company Travelzoo, celebrate the companies behind the best travel deals – from airlines, hotels and holiday companies to cruises, car rental outlets and bus operators.
megabus.com, which offers daily, express coach travel for as low as $1 in North America, was also winner of the same category in the 2009 Travelzoo awards.
Stagecoach Group’s popular budget product was up against some major global brands, including car rental businesses Alamo, Budget, Hertz and Thrifty.
Travelzoo’s team of more than 100 deal experts evaluate over 80,000 deals published in the United States and Canada to select the five finalists in 17 categories that provided the best deals over the past year.
In North America, megabus.com currently serves nearly 50 cities from hubs in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Toronto. The service has carried more than seven million customers in the United States and Canada.
